Newcastle - Ijmuiden Ferries

The Port of Tyne (Newcastle) is located just under 10 miles east of Newcastle City centre, on the north bank of the River Tyne. The modern ferry terminals operated by Fjord Line and DFDS Seaways deal with over 700,000 passengers a year and offer excellent facilities including covered walkways, check-in areas, and automated baggage handling.
DFDS Seaways provides daily crossings to Amsterdam (Ijmuiden) in Holland (duration: 15 hours; crossings leave Holland at 18:00). There is a good selection of food outlets, shops and entertainment options onboard the ferries, while you can also enjoy strolls on the deck. The ships also have an excellent range of conference facilities.

Ijmuiden is a small town, with pleasant local shops and restaurants serving excellent seafood. Terminal facilities aren't extensive, though you will find a convenience store, newsagent and gift shop in the terminal building.
