Brindisi - Zante ferries
Book Zante to Brindisi Ferry tickets here!

The deep harbour of Brindisi allows ocean steamers to lie at the quays. The seaport town is of primary importance as a starting-point for the East. Frederick II constructed a magnificent castle here, the main features of which are the massive, round towers. The castle once guarded the inner harbour but today functions as a prison. Dating from 1178, the cathedral was destroyed by earthquakes and restored in 1743 to 1749.

Hellenic Mediterranean Lines Ferries (HML Ferries) links Brindisi to Zante. The company offers services between Italy and the Greek mainland. Established in 1901 in Constantinople (Istanbul) by two brothers from the Ionian island of Cefalonia, the company is a specialist operator, with only two vessels in its fleet. With specific destinations, HML Lines prides itself in offering prompt sailings and efficient and excellent service.

Zante is the third largest of the Ionian Islands. It is best known as the native land of D. Solomos, the writer of the Greek National Anthem, as well as that of St Dennis, the patron saint. The main town is next to the ferry port. It offers a winding road to the hill of Bohali (two kilometres) and the Venetian Fortress (three kilometres). There are many open-air cafés and local tavernas in the area.
