Orkney Ferries services the North Isles route: Stromness-Hoy-Graemsay. This route is serviced two to three times on weekdays and twice on weekends, however, this schedule varies depending on the season. Total journey time is 45 minutes.

P&O Scottish Ferries also has a service from Aberdeen to Stromness; foot passengers should board 30 minutes prior to sailing, and vehicles 45 minutes before. The crossing can take up to 10 hours.

NorthLink Ferries services the route from Scrabster to Stromness in the Orkneys. Ferries sail up to three times daily, with a reduction to two sailings on Saturday and Sunday. The journey time for this crossing is 90 minutes.
