Motorways facilitate the travel of freight and passengers across the country while bus and rail provide alternative ways of journeying across the UK. Ferries allow passengers to travel onwards to the Isle of Wight.

Southampton is well-connected to the rest of the UK by both rail and bus, with transit to London taking just over an hour.
