Useful Information
Port of Reykjavik

The Port of Reykjavík is a strategic centre of maritime
services and cargo handling, not only for Iceland
but also for the entire North Atlantic region.
Reykjavík has become a popular destination for
cruise vessels, thanks to Iceland's unique landscape,
and spectacular natural features.
The Old Harbour (Gamla Höfnin) is divided into
Vesturhöfn (West Harbour) and Austurhöfn (East
Harbour). Apart from public telephones and toilet
facilities there are no dedicated passenger
facilities available. Direct sea journeys to
Iceland are possible onboard cruise ships that
mainly visit during the summer months, and cargo
ships which have a limited number of cabins
available for passengers.

The port and ship have only limited facilities
for those with disabilities, so passengers are
advised to contact the port authority and the
ferry company prior to arrival, informing them
of their personal needs and requirements.
