Useful Information
Port of Patras

The city of Patras is the most important commercial centre of western Greece and as a major port, it represents the primary gateway to Greece from Italy and Western Europe. It is positioned on a strategic seaside location, within a short distance of the Ionian Islands and just a few hours away from Italy. Ferries sail to Brindisi, Ancona, Trieste and Venice, with sailings also available to other destinations in Greece.
The port is at the heart of the city, with a wide selection of shops, hotels and restaurants available immediately outside the port. There are also toilets provided in the port area, with travel agents and tour operators also available. You can easily reach any bank, hotel, exchange or restaurant that you may need, by crossing the street behind the port. As a tourist destination the city isn't particularly appealing and unless you are arriving after a long trip, you may opt to pass straight through.
