Port of Liverpool

Book Port of Liverpool tickets here!

The vast Port of Liverpool is one of the UK's principal ports and covers both banks of the River Mersey, both in Liverpool and in Birkenhead. The Port processes over 30 million tonnes of freight a year, including one third of all freight moving between Britain and Ireland.

The Passenger Ferry Terminals situated on the Liverpool side of the river offer various facilities including beverage and snacks vending machines.

The recently constructed £30million ultra-modern Twelve Quays River Terminal at Birkenhead provides a check-in hall, cafeteria with lounge, covered check-in areas for both cars and freight vehicles, and a separate rest area with showers for haulage drivers.

There are also drop off and pick-up points for buses and taxis, outside the terminal. Both people and freight will move across a multi-lane link bridge to the floating stages, where two ferries can berth simultaneously to offer a faster, more comfortable, convenient and reliable route across the Irish Sea.

All the Liverpool Terminals provide facilities for the disabled, and assistance on boarding is available upon passenger notification when booking. The Twelve Quays River Terminal facilities have all been specifically designed to accommodate the disabled.
