Transportation to and from the Port of Lerwick
The Shetlands have good road networks, while they are connected by ferry to Scandinavia and the UK.
The Shetlands roads are in good condition and driving is relatively stress-free. You will find directions to the port well signposted from the centre of town.
A minibus transfer service is available to and from Kirkwall to meet with evening arrivals and departures (tel: 0845 6000 449).
There are also scheduled bus services operating across the island, with John Leask & Sons (tel: +44 (0) 1595 693162) operating a regular service across the island.
