Transportation to and from the Port of Kissamos

Book Port of Kissamos tickets here!

There is an adequate road network on the island of Crete, though no rail transport is available. By sea, you may connect to a number of other Greek islands and to Piraeus on the mainland.

The island is only 176 kilometres long, with roads accessing most of the countryside. The National Highway along the north coast allows one to conveniently access the main towns and cities of Crete.

For those without their own transport, daily buses link Kissamos with nearby Chania and Heraklion at the other side of the island. There are also local buses available from the bus station near the town centre.

From the Eleftherios Venizelos airport at Spata, there are flights to the Chania and Heraklion airports on Crete, throughout the year.

Ferries connect Kissamos to Kithira, Antikithira, Githio, Kalamata and Piraeus, with up-to four crossings a week available.

Parking at the port area is limited, though you will find parking spaces for both short and longterm durations in the town itself.
