Greek ferry company ANEK Lines offers ferry services that connect many of the Greek Islands with mainland Greece, as well as with Italian ports Ancona and Trieste. The Piraeus-Heraklion route has a journey time of 8 .5 hours and departs at 21:00, arriving in Piraeus the next morning at 5:30.

The routes originate from Heraklion and are serviced on a daily basis during the high season and Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday during the low season. The actual route is as follows: Heraklion-Satorini-Ios-Paros-Naxos-Mykonos and the same route back to Heraklion. The journey from Heraklion to Mykonos takes just over 5 hours. Minoan Lines services the Heraklion-Piraeus, Heraklion-Thessaloniki and Patras-Corfu-Igoumenitsa. The Heraklion-Piraeus route is operated once daily, departing Heraklion at 21:00 and arriving in Piraeus at 5:00 the next morning. There is also a midday sail during the high season departing Heraklion at 11:00. The journey time is 8 hours. The Heraklion-Thessaloniki route is serviced twice a week during the low season (Tuesday and Friday) and three times a week during the high season (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). The stops en-route also change depending on the season and sometimes the day of the week, however most sailings are Heraklion-Santorini-Paros-Tinos-Skitahos-Thessaloniki. The journey time is 23 hours.
