Transportation to and from Dover

Frequent trains run to London, with buses also connecting to the centre of London. Road connections are excellent, providing convenient access to all parts of the UK, while ferries provide cross-channel connections to France.

It is easy to reach Dover directly from London or the rest of the UK by the M2 or M20. The roundabout at the bottom of Jubilee Way, at the entrance to the Eastern Docks, is where the A2 and A20 meet. Follow the signposts for roads into the port itself. You will find two docks, East and West, the Hoverspeed terminal is in the Western Docks, while SeaFrance and P&O dock in the Eastern docks.

Frequent express coach services run from London Victoria coach station, while other buses arrive at the main bus station in the town centre.

Book Dover ferry tickets

There are regular direct rail services from London Victoria and London Charing Cross to Dover Priory station daily (duration 1hr 45mins), which is close to the town centre. There are also free bus services provided by the ferry operators to and from the Eastern Docks by day.

Ferries sail to Dunkirk, Calais and Boulogne in France, with daily sailings available.

If you're a ferry passenger with P&O Ferries or SeaFrance and would like to leave your car at Dover, you can park it at the Ferry Terminal, Eastern Docks. Short and long-stay parking is provided to all passengers at the main multi-storey car park at the entrance to the Ferry Terminal. However, free parking in front of the Travel Centre is restricted to 15 minutes.
