Port of Cherbourg

Cherbourg is a favourite entry point to Normandy and provides one of the shortest crossings on the Western Channel. The town of Cherbourg is an historic town, with many English connections, and is also a major yachting centre, fishing port, naval base, and shipbuilding centre. It has a reputation of being a very active fishing port, with many fine fish restaurants in the centre of town.
