Traveling to Port
Transportation to and from the port of Cephalonia

There is a bus service available on the island, while those with their own transport can reach most parts of the island by car. Ferries connect the island with the mainland of Greece and several other Greek islands.
As the largest and most mountainous of the Ionian Islands, Cephalonia's resorts are quite a distance apart. However, roads are generally better than other islands, and offer some spectacular views - especially along the route from Argostoli in the west and Sami in the east. One should exercise caution at all times when driving, as there are many hairpin bends and some of the road networks find themselves situated in precipitous mountainous areas.
There are several flights a day from Athens to Argostoli Airport in Cephalonia, while charter flights connect many European cities with the island.
