Symril Lines vessels sails along the following route: Hanstholm-Tórshavn-Lerwick-Bergen-Lerwick-Tórshavn-Seyðisfjørður-Tórshavn-Lerwick. This route is serviced once a week, departing Hanstholm on Saturday morning, arriving in Tórshavn 9 hours later. This ship docks in Tórshavn for 3 hours, before journeying another 13 hours to reach Lerwick. It then takes 13 hours to travel to Bergen, before returning the journey, all the way to Seyðisfjørður.
Fjord Line's primary route is the sailing from Bergen to Newcastle in England, with journey time of 26 hours and 45 minutes (Fjord Line purchased this route from Color Line). En route, the ferry calls at the Norwegian ports of Stavanger and Haugesund. The ferry docks at Stavanger after 20 hours and takes 22 .5 hours to travel to Haugesund. Sailings drop from three a week in the summer months (Friday, Sunday and Wednesday), to two crossings per week during the winter (Saturday and Wednesday). This route is serviced by the M/S Jupiter. Passengers with cars should arrive no later than 1 hour, and during the peak summer months, no later than 2 hours prior to sailing time at the terminal.

The ferry departs from Hanstholm in Denmark and travels via Egersund and Haugesund to Bergen, all in Norway. The total journey, Bergen-Hantsholm takes 16 .5 hours, while it takes 9 hours and 15 minutes to travel to Egersund from Bergen.
P&O Ferries Scotland provides ferries from the Shetland Islands to Bergen, with ships docking at Lerwick. There are also onward connections available to Aberdeen in Scotland.
