From Piraeus take ANEN Lines' Piraeus-Peloponnese-Kasteli route, for Kythira and Antikythira (calls at Antikythira once weekly).

For hydrofoil travel to Antikythira (five times a week, weather permitting), contact the travel office in Piraeus (tel: + 30 210 428 0001) or in Athens (tel: + 30 210 324 4600). Hydrofoil crossings take 3 hours, 30 minutes, whereas conventional ferries take seven hours to reach the island.
