Red Funnel Isle of Wight Ferries fleet
The high-speed Red Jets came into service in the early 1990s and were the first jet-propelled scheduled high speed ferry on the Solent. The Red Jets replaced the hydrofoils that were in Red Funnel's fleet, making the crossing to West Cowes even faster. They also provide all-weather reliability and a new standard in comfort for high-speed crossings.
The Red Jets 1 through 3 have a top speed of 35 knots and were all built on the Isle of Wight. The passenger capacity is 130 for Red Jet 1 and 2 and 187 for Red Jet 3. There is an onboard drinks service and wheelchair access is available for disabled passengers. There are no toilets onboard the vessel.
