P&O Ferries is the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O) and one of the leading British logistics, passenger and freight operating companies, with a worldwide network that was founded in 1837. P&O Irish Sea is the subsidiary that specialises on transportation routes between Ireland, England, Scotland and France and runs numerous ferries to Ireland.

P&O currently offers no less than seven direct routes to Ireland, as well as five through routes to Continental Europe: a comprehensive and flexible network to choose from for everyone's sailings needs. P&O European Ferries (Irish Sea) was formed in 1998 by the merger of the Cairnryan-based service of P&O European (Felixstowe) Ltd. and Pandoro Ltd., which operated the routes: Ardrossan-Larne, Fleetwood-Larne, Liverpool-Dublin and Rosslare-Cherbourg.

The company now operates a fleet of ultra-modern vessels, offering state of the art facilities as well safe, reliable passage during all weather conditions. Annually, P&O Irish ferries carries close to 500,000 freight units, 200,000 tourist vehicles and close to 1 million passengers.
